Constatant que, nonobstant le nombre impressionnant des quatre mille participants à la récente Conférence Nationale, l'avis de l'ensemble de la population ne saurait se refléter à travers eux, du fait qu'ils ne sont pas du tout représentatifs ;
Qu'à l'analyse, l'assistance n'est composée que d'une seule tendance dont les représentants ont été judicieusement choisis à cette fin ;

Police in eastern Madagascar arrest foreign journalist investigating illegal timber trafficking
Authorities in eastern Madagascar arrested a foreign journalist investigating illegal rosewood trafficking.
The arrest, which took place twelve days ago, comes as the central government claims to be cracking down on the illicit rosewood trade. The journalist, whose name and nationality is being withheld to protect his identity, had his camera equipment confiscated by the police in Maroantsetra, a town that is the gateway to Masoala National Park, where much of the rosewood logging is occurring. The police, accompanied by rosewood traffickers, forced the journalist to delete images of timber stockpiles from his camera. The journalist and his guide were then released.
The journalist provided the following account of the ordeal.

Open letter to the Credentials Committee
Your Excellencies,
At the last session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the author of the March 17, 2009 coup d’état in Madagascar, Mr. Rajoelina, attempted to speak to your most august body. Thanks to the vigilance of a number of individuals who respect democratic principles and the rule of law, the attempt failed.
During the upcoming 65th meeting of the Assembly, it is likely that Mr. Rajoelina (or his representatives) may again try to take the floor. We believe that it is crucial that the international community remember that Mr. Rajoelina (along with his ruling body, the High Authority of the Transition, or HAT), were sentenced in February of 2010 to individual and collective sanctions by the Council for Peace and Security of the African Union. These sanctions will surely gain increased gravity if considered and observed by the UN.

Call SEM. Barak Obama, President of the United States of America
Excellency,
It is our duty as citizens but also as actor and activ observers for the return of constitutional order in Madagascar to draw your attention to the situation prevailing in the country.
It's been over 18 months since the junta seized power in Madagascar, leading the country into a disastrous situations in all areas. The institutions of the Republic and in particular justice are totally out of control. More than half a million people are victims of unemployment. Insecurity reigns in all the country. Yet Rajoelina continues to defy the international community outrageously ignoring the directives of the SADC and the ad hoc International contact group, continuing to take unilateral decisions.
Decisions taken at the 30th Summit of the SADC, of 18 August 2010, in Madagascar, have advocated the resolution of the crisis in a neutral, inclusive and consensual way, based on agreements signed in Maputo and Addis Ababa. In the same declaration, SADC also reaffirms the continuation of international sanctions until the return to constitutional order; sanctions voted by the African Union, in March 2010, against 109 people including Rajoelina.
Among the countries that have expressed their approval to the establishment of these sanctions the United States of America stand in the pole positions and let us, your Excellency, on behalf of the Malagasy people, renew our gratitude. We remember the very encouraging words of Mr. Niels Marquatd, then Ambassador at the time of the coup that "the U.S. government is now considering the implementation of targeted sanctions."
As such, we ask you again, Excellency, to show your solidarity with the Malagasy people by refusing an entry visa on your territory to the coup plotters if they would seek to attend the 65th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
The denial of visas are provided by the sanctions imposed by the AU and confirmed by the SADC.
Excellency, we are sure of your desire to help the Malagasy people in their quest for real freedom of expression and opinion, and in their struggle to recover their Fundamental Rights, bring peace and lasting security in Madagascar.

MADAGASCAR: Open Letter to the members of the United Nations
It's been over 18 months since the junta seized power in Madagascar leading the country into a disastrous situation in all areas. The institutions of the Republic and in particular justice are totally out of control. More than half a million people are victims of unemployment. Insecurity reigns in all the country. Yet Rajoelina continues to defy the international community outrageously ignoring the directives of the SADC and the ad hoc International contact group and continuing to take unilateral decisions.
Recently Rajoelina and his team have unilaterally put forward texts they pompously call "malgacho-Malagasy agreements" or new "Malagasy constitution".
The Malagasy people demand instead that the agreements signed in Maputo and Addis Ababa as well as sanctions are implemented quickly.
We ask the whole international community to actively support this decision, including its effective implementation.
As we approach the 65th General Assembly A United Nations General in New York, it is our duty as actors and observers, actively working for the return of law to place our call to the entire International Community.
We therefore call on all UN member countries to oppose any involvement of Madagascar in this General Assembly. It is inconceivable and offensive to the UN to give tribune to representatives of an illegal regime that is not recognized internationally, authors of coup, criminals and looters of their own country. Their place is elsewhere but not here in an institution which stands as a champion of human rights and democracy.
